Welcome! I'm Bobby and this is my son Huxley, he's 4. I am an archaeologist and historic preservationist. Since 2013 I have been the executive director for Historic Cane Hill, a 501(c)3 non-profit saving the town I grew up in.
On the weekends we love to have adventures and take mini trips. I've always said we take for granted the awesome vacation opportunities around us, so in 2020 I will be taking Hux to visit all 52 of the amazing Arkansas State Parks! I'll be recording our experiences here. I am in the planning stages and looking over maps. I am a planner and love to set goals!
BUT, I need help!
Do you have a favorite park? Why?
What's the best time to visit a certain park?
Do they have a MUST see area of the park?
Have a contact in one of the state parks? We'd love to meet them!
Know a special educational program in a park?
Is there a festival in the park we should pencil in?
Best park for spring wildflowers?
Best park for fall leaves?
What's your favorite campsite in a park? Loop and number?
Do you have camping tips/tricks?
Favorite camping recipe?
Best hike in a park?
Is there a book we should read first dealing with local history?
What's the best reference book for Arkansas Geology, tree ID, etc?
Let me know!
We will start in Northwest Arkansas in January at Devils Den State Park and then continue doing day trips before heading out a bit further in the spring. By summer we will shift to tent camping and visiting some of the further parks in a Camper.
